"Tell people there’s an invisible man in the sky who created the universe, and the vast majority believe you. Tell them the paint is wet, and they have to touch it to be sure."

-George Carlin

Can an Omniscient God get Angry?

    by

But there is a problem with thinking he changed over time.  The Bible also says he’s immutable, a fancy word for unchanging.  As I’ve said before, the abstraction is so powerful, it self-destructs.

Omniscient, all-powerful, immutable…these are all infinities of some form or another.  Infinities have a way of breaking down logically every time they are really explored, both in the concept of a god and in mathematics.  Like I’ve said before, appologists would have a much easier time of things if they redefined all-powerful as “able to do all that is doable” and omniscient as “knowing all that is knowable”.  The problem is that the Bible still contradicts itself, having god being seemingly surprised at one point and saying that he knows every move one is going to make before they are born in another.  ~ Steve
