Reason #2 why Santorum can take the nomination:
The apparent front runner(?), Mitt Romney seems to lack the passion, loyal support or any coherent message or purpose. He looks worn out from the road he’s been on for like 8 years. While he touts private sector experience- “turning around companies”- he’s failed to address exactly what that means and what it has to do with government. There may be a good case to be made there, but I wouldn’t know since I’ve never seen it made.He also has dubious conservative cred in an election cycle where their base is pretty clear that they want pure uncompromising anti-government pro-Jesus conservatism and his political background is suspiciously laden with liberalism. Add to that that he’s a serious Mormon, given the anti-secular atmosphere mentioned in reason #1 I’m not sure they trust a guy to defend their faith who gets his religion from a book that’s not the Bible. Even Barack Obama- to those on the right who accept that he’s a Christian- gets his religion from the Bible.
Finally, I get the feeling that the anti incumbent sentiment might end up hurting Romney the most, they might very well reject his “heir to the nomination” vibe.
