Divine Irony

is a rich archive of religious delusions, scientific truths and political implications.

"Tell people there’s an invisible man in the sky who created the universe, and the vast majority believe you. Tell them the paint is wet, and they have to touch it to be sure."

-George Carlin

“If people are good only because they fear punishment, and hope for reward, then we are a sorry lot indeed”.

-Albert Einstein

  1. Listen Up Atheists

You can’t tell people that “God is not real.” You can’t call people idiots for believing in a higher being and you can’t lecture people about it.

You can lecture people about evolution, or the big bang, or gravity, because these things have been proven. None of these things disprove the existence of a higher being, simply that he/she is altered from the one(s) they were taught to believe in.

You say, “Show me proof that a higher being exists.”

I say, “Show me proof that one does not.”

For centuries, people believed the world is flat, until science proved them wrong. Perhaps a mass theological epiphany is right around the corner.

You attempting to convince them that there is no God is the same as them trying to convince you that there is. Neither party possesses proof.

Well, you’re can’ts aren’t really can’ts of course.  It’s just that when atheists do these things, they are themselves being rather hypocritical and dick-like.  They aren’t likely to convince many people using such techniques.  I agree with you in that respect.

It is, however, up to you to provide the evidence / proof for your god.  I can’t prove a negative.  And while it is possible that a mass theological epiphany is right around the corner, it appears to me that we are not really moving to that corner but in fact toward another corner in the opposite direction.
