Divine Irony

"Tell people there’s an invisible man in the sky who created the universe, and the vast majority believe you. Tell them the paint is wet, and they have to touch it to be sure."

-George Carlin

“If people are good only because they fear punishment, and hope for reward, then we are a sorry lot indeed”.

-Albert Einstein

  1. Bill O'Reilly To Atheist David Silverman: 'You Are A Fascist!'

O’Reilly hosted president of the American Atheist Group David Silverman on his Fox News program so he could scream at somebody about the “war on Christmas”.

mediamattersforamerica:

Well, this is awkward… Bill O’Reilly said: Planned Parenthood should “be funded like Catholic charities, by individuals who believe in Planned Parenthood’s mission.” Take a look at the organization Catholic Charities’ financial documents, and you’ll find that in 2010 62% of their total income was government revenue — $2.9 billion that year.

O’Reilly is an asshole.  Nothing new here.

  5. "[M]any in the media — powerful people — don’t want to tell the truth to the people because it’s more important to them to get their ideology in play than to let the folks know what the truth is, and that’s a total change from what the American media was 30-40 years ago."

Bill O’Reilly, July 9, on The O’Reilly Factor.

Erik Wemple of WaPo says it best, “Good point, O’Reilly. Back in 1972, a media organization never would have produced and aired a four-minute segment that resembled a presidential campaign attack ad.

Thanks Bill. Your most honest statement in a while.

How the fuck is a city evaluated as “manly”? Percentage of people who chew Skoal and sport truck nuts or what?? Or since the study seems to have been sponsored by Combos, maybe it’s decided by per capita consumption of processed pizza flavored snack foods? motherjones:

  9. Bill O'Reilly Covers The "War On Christmas" More Than Actual Wars

    nonplussedbyreligion:

Every year, “Culture Warrior” Bill O’Reilly devotes considerable time on his Fox News show to the “War on Christmas.” This December, O’Reilly has covered the imaginary “War on Christmas” more than three times as much as the actual wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

  13. "No one believing in Jesus commits mass murder. The man might have called himself a Christian on the net, but he is certainly not of that faith."

     -

Bill O’Reilly, on the “liberal media’s” reporting that Norwegian terrorist Anders Behring-Breivik is a Christian.

Conservative Christians have the right idea, because you know what Jesus really said was “give nothing to your brother, you are not his keeper, do not love thy neighbor as thyself, Christianity is the only true religion, white heterosexuals shall inherit the earth.”
