Over 300,000 children are murdered inside Planned Parenthood clinics every year. http://ift.tt/ITL4iD

BULL FUCKING SHIT.
My mother was three months pregnant with me when she waltzed into Planned Parenthood. But she didn’t get an abortion. Not because she had a ‘sudden change of heart’ nor because someone ‘lead her Jesus’ but because she went there to make sure I was and would be born healthy.
My parents were two poor young adults in their late teens and early twenties when I was conceived. They lived in a tiny apartment and had no insurance, but they wanted me. My mom drove herself to Planned Parenthood from the third month of pregnancy to the fifth (until she finally got medical insurance.) There she got the ultrasound screenings, found out I was a girl, got the prenatal vitamins and were referred to see the physician I’ve been going to from my birth to now.
Thanks to Planned Parenthood, I was born healthy at six pounds, seven ounces. I had no malformations, no preventable disorders and no preventable health issues. The only thing that occurred was I was in ‘fetal distress’ and was born a week before the due date.
I ‘made it out alive’ and thanks to Planned Parenthood I ‘made it out’ healthy.
Take this bullshit elsewhere.
TL;DR?: Read the bold.

Well, this is awkward… Bill O’Reilly said: Planned Parenthood should “be funded like Catholic charities, by individuals who believe in Planned Parenthood’s mission.” Take a look at the organization Catholic Charities’ financial documents, and you’ll find that in 2010 62% of their total income was government revenue — $2.9 billion that year.

O’Reilly is an asshole.  Nothing new here.

Texas loses Medicaid funding in effort to spite Planned Parenthood

cognitivedissonance:

Last Friday, the Department of Health and Human Services announced that they would be informing the State of Texas that the state would lose basic health and family planning services funding from Medicaid because it is in violation of federal law. The state wrote Planned Parenthood out of the state’s Women’s Health Program, a Medicaid-waiver program. As of today, Texas has been officially informed that the funding is lost, via this letter from HHS official Cindy Mann, director of the Center for Medicaid and State Operations (CMSO)…

An HHS official told reporters today:

“Medicaid law is very clear; a state may not restrict patients” choice of providers of services like mammograms and other cancer screenings, if those providers are qualified to deliver care covered by Medicaid. Patients, not state government officials, should be able to choose the doctors and other health care providers that are best for them and their families. In 2005, Texas requested this same authority to restrict patients’ choices, and the Bush Administration did not grant it to them either.”

The war on women’s health just resulted in 130,000 casualties in Texas.

Yep. This guy, who STILL jokes about his inability to count to three, thinks he knows best for Texas women.

You know, I was thinking about Texas for law school…

So, they’re losing that funding from our socialized medical system for doing EXACTLY what they think say socialized medicine wants to do- namely, restricting patient’s choice in their own healthcare. Seems pretty obvious that the only people in our government who want to make patients’ decisions for them are republicans. Texas just shot a big hole in the conservative argument against single payer healthcare, if you ask me.

Planned Parenthood, we’re going to get rid of that.

Mitt Romney, discussing his deficit reduction plan this week in Kirkwood, Missouri.

Romney’s spent a lot of time talking about math. So let’s do some math!

Planned Parenthood received $363.2 million in federal/state dollars for FY 2009. The U.S. budget deficit for FY 2009 was $1.4 trillion. So what portion of the federal deficit is Planned Parenthood’s budget?

Well, it’s 2.5943x10-4  or .025943% of the federal deficit in FY 2009. Clearly, that is a massive contribution to our deficit and must be eliminated.

So never mind the human consequences of the decision — like RomneybotTM is concerned with human consequences. The math simply makes this suggestion ridiculous, particularly when examining defense spending and Romney’s war boner for Iran.

The Attack On Planned Parenthood: Texas Edition

religiousragings:

liberalsarecool:

More than a dozen Texas Planned Parenthood clinics have closed “after financing for women’s health was slashed by two-thirds by the Republican-controlled Legislature. The cuts, which left many low-income women with inconvenient or costly options, grew out of the effort to eliminate state support for Planned Parenthood. Although the cuts also forced clinics that were not affiliated with the agency to close — and none of them, even the ones run by Planned Parenthood, performed abortions — supporters of the cutbacks said they were motivated by the fight against abortion. Now, the same sentiment is likely to lead to a shutdown next week of another significant source of reproductive health care: the Medicaid Women’s Health Program, which serves 130,000 women with grants to many clinics….

Gov. Rick Perry and Republican lawmakers have said they would forgo the $35 million in federal money that finances the women’s health program in order to keep Planned Parenthood from getting any of it.” Several other states are trying similar stunts. “Nationally, the newest target is Title X, the main federal family planning program. All four Republican presidential candidates support eliminating Title X, which was created in 1970 with Republican support from President Nixon and the elder George Bush, then a congressman.”

The conservative campaign against women is absolutely heartless and targets the most vulnerable and in need. Clinics closing is beyond comprehension. You’re pro-life and you go this far out of your way to hurt mothers and young children?

I’m too disgusted to even comment. :(

The Douchebaggery know no bounds. NO bounds!

My sense of decency always makes me think that these groups would set some limits to the level of propaganda they push and lies they’ll tell.  Expecting common decency seems to be a weakness of mine that I need to work on.  This video is despicable.

If you can stomach it, it’s jaw dropping.  If you can’t, it basically says that Planned Parenthood is in the abortion business.  In order to make sure they keep their abortion business running they tell kids to have sex, and when they get pregnant they suck them in for the the abortions.  Oh yeah, they also push pornography on kids and cause STD/STIs.

This is disgusting and as Drew said, this is not satire.

Rick Santorum Says Abortion Is A Cause Of Breast Cancer (VIDEO)

stfuhypocrisy:

February 5, 2012
By

During an appearance on Fox News on Sunday, Rick Santorum suggested to Chris Wallace that abortion causes breast cancer. Santorum told Wallace that he agreed with the Susan G. Komen Foundation’s announcement to cut funding to Planned Parenthood because he thinks Komen shouldn’t associate with an organization that performs procedures that cause cancer. Komen was pushed to make their decision by VP Karen Handel, a failed Republican candidate in Georgia who ran on an anti-abortion platform. Santorum has made it clear that he opposes abortion, even in cases ofrape and incest, and wants to ban all forms of contraceptives and birth control methods. He also stated that there was a link between abortion and breast cancer.

Here’s what Santorum said on Fox:

“I’ve taken the position as a presidential candidate and someone in Congress that Planned Parenthood funds and does abortions. I don’t believe that breast cancer research is advanced by funding an organization where you’ve seen ties to cancer and abortion. So, I don’t think it’s a particularly healthy way of contributing money to further cause of breast cancer, but that’s for a private organization like Susan G. Komen to make that decision.”

Here’s the video.

Santorum is pushing the false notion that abortion causes breast cancer, which is a good way to scare women into not having abortions, but his claim has no science to support it. According to theNational Cancer Institute, there is no connection between abortion and breast cancer. Santorum’s theory is based upon small poorly conducted studies that have since been debunked by larger studies.

Breast cancer is a serious disease that we should be fighting to cure at all costs. And the right wing is not helping by pushing theories that have no basis in fact. Their obsession with their crazy abortion beliefs have blinded them to what is really important. Preventing countless women from dying from a horrible disease should be their real pro-life position. But considering their support of Komen’s decision to cut funding from Planned Parenthood, it’s clear that conservative extremists are willing to sentence millions of low income women to death to advance their anti-abortion agenda.

Nobody is arguing that the Komen Foundation doesn’t have the right to turn themselves into an anti-stem-cell-research, anti-environmentalism, anti-Planned-Parenthood outfit. We may think it a poor fit with the whole supposed “fighting cancer” premise, but what the hell: The landscape is dotted with prominent nonprofits that actually do very little in support of their supposed core mission, so one more hardly makes a dent.

But people absolutely have the right to judge those nonprofits. You know, like Planned Parenthood is continually judged, because they help even low-income women get birth control and yes, on occasion, abortions. Komen picked sides in a very vicious ongoing fight; now, in a move that should surprise nobody but is apparently surprising an entire half of the political spectrum, their own past supporters are picking sides too. That’s hardly victimization, and to paint people withdrawing from funding Komen in order to fund other groups as being some sort of thuggery, while at the very same time praising efforts to shutdown other nonprofit groups entirely—now that’s just idiotic.

Yes, if you turn a nonprofit endeavor into a ideological fight, you’re going to get an ideological fight in return.
