Male privilege is the sexualization of Breast Cancer awareness.
THIS
It reminds me of what Randall Munroe said:
“The frustrating thing about the “Save the Boobies” campaign and similar things (like the “Booberday” meme going around G+) is that they get it exactly backward. Often, the point of breast cancer treatment is to destroy some or all of the boobies in order to save the woman.
Saying that we should work to cure this disease because it threatens breasts is really upsetting. For starters, it suggests that women are worth saving because they’re attached to breasts, rather than the other way around. But worse, it tells any woman who’s had a mastectomy to try to save her life that she’s lost the thing that made people care about her survival. What a punch in the stomach.”
I’ve always thought this
I’ve gotta say, those campaigns have always made me uncomfortable and I couldn’t put my finger on why, until now.

High ResolutionToday I saw that Romney claimed that the president will lie during the debates. I thought I would look at their records on Politifact.com to see how reliable each candidate has been. Out of the statements analyzed by Politifact, this is the percent of things they have said that have been on the spectrum of true and false, for Obama and Romney.
This isn’t perfect, since Obama has been rated more frequently than Romney has. Still, it’s interesting to see how often each candidate gets rated in each category. -
The fact that people not only believe in this, but think that everyone should be taught it in schools, is unnerving. Seriously people? Thoughts?
It amazes me sometimes that the United States ever became a world power. There needs to be better gun control regulation, I definitely don’t believe we can or should fully get rid of guns but the safest place to be is not in a room with everyone packing. Greater access to guns will lead to higher numbers of casualties and really has not been shown to lead to lower crime rates at all. There is just really no statistical reason to favor more guns for people.
The bible being taught in schools though? HA! I can sum up the teaching the bible should get in schools. “The Christian bible has been one of the most influential books in history. This book, which is fairly poorly written, has inspired people the world over to become bigoted, xenophobic, and push to war. It has spawned what is currently the worlds largest religion. If you would like to learn more about it, do it on your own, now we’re going back to facts since this is school.”
